i'm back from Army Half Marathon 07'!
just woke up from a 1+hr nap..tts all i could slp since yesterday morning.

unfortunately, caught a cold the night before but still i reached the place at 4.15am, saw quite a number of participants at the esplanade already. I immediately went to deposit my bag and went for a warm up till the run was about to start.
It was nice to see so many people at start point once again, eagerly waiting to set off~
finally at 0530 sharp, everyone began their run for AHM 07'!
this year's route was terrific..in fact i think it was the best route of all the ahms i took part in. no stopping at the traffic-light junctions, maybe i was lucky..haha but the water points were very inefficient..first time during a run i have to stop and wait for the NSmen to pour the h2o into the cups.
i started off a little too fast which i sort of regret near the end of the run, I slowed down quite alot from the 15km mark onwards and wasn't feeling quite well. my right calf hurts and i got a stitch..but thankfully my knees didn't hurt much, tts good news! =) *love my heel pads*

throughout the run i was calculating my time and the distances left..how should i paced myself to reach the end point within 2hr 15mins..maybe if things were going well, 2hr 10mins can be quite possible., and was hoping to at least hold the same timing as last year's. i know i could do it but part of me just wouldn't listen..so i didn't pick up my speed towards that last 1km and only did it at the last 250m...very lazy of me i must say..in the end i hit 2hr 10mins...just nice...but still it was 1min slower than last year's timing..
my fren was saying why did i train so much last year since it was only 1min difference when i didn't train much this year. good point. but the thing is..i felt lethargic during and after the run..something which never happen last year. i even wanted to stop at the 15km mark...but in the end i didn't coz stopping for a half marathon is simply unforgivable if i didn't stop for the full marathon.
anyway, my 4th ahm has been great~
i'll be back for my 5th ahm next year! =p
