I had the most wonderful day TODAY! Met up with Ling Xiang in the afternoon at Holland Village TCC for coffee and we had lots of catching up to do! Its been months since i last saw her ( i think) and darn, i miss the girl! After TCC, we decided to head down to Great World City for dinner, many things had changed around there and LX seems to be amused by every changes..haha we were really hungry then so we grabbed something to eat at Toast Box first. After Toast Box, we head straight down to the basement for Island Creamery! That's the highlight for the day..i could easily say the flavour we tried was the BEST ice-cream i've eaten so far. Sorry Ben&Jerry's...i'm beginning to like you lesser and lesser, coz there are way too many ice-cream parlors around and they are all so good! Not long after the ice-cream, we went to the Hong Kong Cafe for dinner. I made a huge mistake by ordering the 'Eight Treasure Tea' and LX was trying hard to force it down her throat, haha. Opps, sorry girl!! Before heading home, we went to 'That CD Shop' coz LX wanted to take a look at some Jazz CDs. Thanks to her, the trip to the shop was a huge mistake!! I am $70 poorer right now.. bought 2 CDs, the '70's Forever Disco' and ' Appasionante', the latter is an album of spanish love songs. These series of albums are compiled by Warner Music Group Company and only can be found in 'That CD Shop'.
I must say the salesgirl had done a great job by playing the right albums, she played the album of 'Forever Disco' and many people asked for it after listening some of its songs..Afterwhich, she played the Jazz album and its LX turn to fall into their trap..ahaha..Hopefully, no one pull me into 'That CD Shop' again, coz i'll be tempted once more.
I guess tonight i can finally sleep with a smile on my face..its been a very fun day! =D ** ** PS: LX and i will be setting up a FoodBlog soon, its a compliation of all the food we tried around this small island! Hopefully the blog will survive more than a month..haha! May everyone enjoy their last day of 2006 tml.. =)

3 more days to 2007. I'm so looking forward to it. why? because 2006 is a sucky year for me and i want it to end real quick, maybe my luck will change next year, who noes? if its gd, then great. if it got worse, hmm..i dun think it will happen coz nth can be worse than what i am having right now. haven thought of my new year resolutions yet, will be cautious about listing it out coz i seriously didn't want to break any of them. Anyway, before 2006 ends soon, i wanna take this time to thank a few friends out there. Even though i never meet up with some of them anymore, i did get a few words of concern from them. Sometimes when life's tough, u can tell who is behind you, supporting you all the way. i shall thank whoever name that comes into my mind (Who say u have to be in the star awards to give a thank-you speech?). To Vincent L: thanks for being such a great friend and neighbour. If one day no one is willing to listen to me anymore, i noe u'll be there a block away. To Lingxiang: never heard of you nowadays, guess u're busy with ur Uni gatherings but still i'm glad our friendship has gone this far..I always remembered what happened to me back in Sec 2, u were the only one who stood by me and from then onwards, i noe that u are someone whom i can trust. To Kach: u're not afriad to show others what you are, and that's something i'm so proud of. i'm glad u nv forget the coffee dates and i felt so guilty for delaying it all the time, but u gave me the feeling that i'm not forgotten at all coz no matter how busy life gets..or how slackish life is, i still get to hear from you. thanks babe. To Rach: though our friendship drifted, but those 'tai tai' sessions will nv be forgotten. Still i'm glad that there's still a little communications going on. Hopefully things didn't stop there. To JJ: lots of misunderstandings these days huh, but then again, thanks for tolerating my quick-temper. Someone who nv fails to lend a helping hand, and tts you. Thanks a million! To Calvin: duno what shall i say coz i duno u much at all, still i must thank you for 'pulling' me out of my cage!! haha.. To Justin: you ain't suppose to be in this column u noe? coz u're not my friend at all..haha just kidding, u're the only nephew whom i talked so much with (coz the rest are still so young)! but many thanks to U! yes..we hav the same family blood flowing inside us, tt explains why we enjoy 'suaning' each other. Thanks for EVERYTHING..and i noe i'm such a lousy auntie. To Bobbi: the opposite of me, the optimist. Always proving me wrong. Always making me laugh. That's why when i cant sleep in the middle of the night, i noe who to call. Thanks for being a great friend even though the length of our friendship is less than a yr. Like what others say: its not how long friends know each other, its how much friends know abt each other. To YF: remembered the time i met you at Suntec? i told my friend that i was so touched when i heard how you intro me to your sister.. " this is my good friend, fangting"..wah~i was shocked but VERY touched indeed.. hope u still remember the good times we had. To Zarli, Siti, Andy, Andre and Jiahao: my sec friends, thanks for being such concerning ppl! Siti, although i nv tok to you in person before, but somehow or rather, i believe our friendship will blossom. =) To Wei liang: the only JJC friend i am still contacting. Sometimes out of the blue, i will receive a phonecall from you..and thanks for remembering me and asking how hav i been. I PROMISE to meet you up for coffee next year!! To Eugenia and Huiping: 3 yrs in poly as classmates, everything's gonna end soon. Hopefully HP dun go M.I.A. and Eugenia recover from her freq illness, may we enjoy the last 3 weeks of polylife as classmates. =) To Lionel: hey dude, sorrie for being such a bad friend to you. Yet, u're still there to help..copying notes for me etc. I'm grateful..seriously. To the rest i've missed out: no matter how gd or how bad u are..thanks for existing in my life.

*Spoiler for Survivor:Cooks Island* Finally caught the season finale of Survivor:Cook Islands. I must say this is the best season so far and what's more, a deserving winner in the end! Yul, the Asia-American guy, did the Asians proud by claiming the 1 million dollars, beating Ozzy with 5-4 votes from the jury of 9. His flawless game strategies outwit every single player and was identified as the 'Puppet Master' of the game. Ozzy, the 'Warrior', played the game in his own way, by winning every immunity challenges which secured him a spot in the Final 3. Yes, u heard it right, its no longer 'Final 2' for this season. The other finalist is Becky, expectedly no one voted her as the winner coz everyone was eyeing on either Yul or Ozzy. Although i hope Ozzy goes home as the winner, even host Jeff felt bad that Ozzy didn't win, but both of them played a great game so either one deserves the title. My fave past-time is over now, have to wait till the next season Survivor:Fiji where the contestants are once again divided into 2 tribes. However, one tribe lives in luxary while the other will live in a place with...almost nothing. Stay tuned!

** Yay! to all StarWorld subscribers, Heroes will be coming your way soon!Alright, i noe i've been pestering almost everyone to watch this show but i just want to recommend "Heroes" to those whom i've yet told. This tv serial received the highest rating for any NBC drama premiere in 5 years, the most watched program attracting 14.3 million viewers overall in United States. This is one show which i'm so crazy about since Desperate Housewives. 11 episodes for Season 1 and Season 2 hasn't been out yet, i believe Mediacorp wun be showing this coz there are abit of gruesome moments..so ya noe, get ur resources elsewhere! Here's a clip btw, enjoy!

Finally there's something for me to blog about coz its been ages since i actually went out on a weekend!! Was "tricked" to town by Calvin yesterday as he promised a not so crowded place, i hate going out on weekends with so many ppl around. Still, we went for a light dinner and chilled out at TCC once again, this time it was at Plaza Singapura. Is there any TCC membership card or something? Coz i've been frequent there quite abit and their coffee ROCKS! Chatting and chilling with a friend at cafe seems like an occasional thing for me right now, i felt soOoo much better after telling a friend wat has happened to me..esp the last few days where so much things has happened. Glad that there's a friend who is willingly to fork out time on the weekend and hear me talk. We went for a movie at the Cathay and planned to try out the G-max Reverse Buggy after that, tts the reason of having a light dinner. Wanted to watch a lighthearted film that doesn't require much brain cells, so ended up watching... The Holiday, a romantic comedy from the director of Something's Gotta Give and What Women Want, two women trade homes only to find that a change of address can change their lives. Iris (Kate Winslet) is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda (Cameron Diaz), realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who has never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow covered English countryside. Shortly after arriving at their destinations, both women find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. Amanda is charmed by Iris's homesome brother Graham ( Jude Law) and Iris, with inspiration provided by legendary screenwrite Arthur (Eli Wallach), mends her heart when she meets film composer Miles (Jack Black). ** This movie was quite a let-down from the Director who produced excellent movies in the past. I could never forget how much i enjoyed his movie, "Something's Gotta Give" where these 2 folks fell in love with each other despite their differences, however "The Holiday" made me sit through the 2hrs and 15mins, thinking "when is this show going to end?!" One word to sum up the show "Draggy"! It has gone into too much unnecessary details which i thought they should remove it to shorten the film a little. This movie is miles apart compared to 2003's "Love Actually" and no wonder the movie critics had given 2 stars out of 5 for it. Save the money or watch "Charlotte's Web" insted. ** After the film, i was feeling quite unwell so didn't try out Gmax, head home instead and caught a surprise. Now, when will i head out again?

Another race without sleep from the previous night, it wasn't because i was too excited for the race, just that the time i had to wake up yesterday was the time i normally sleep! I wasn't sure if my body could take it without any sleep at all coz this time is not 21km anymore..its a freaking 42.195km! During the race: The race started at 6am sharp. Most people started off slow so as to pace themselves through out the race, some couldn't stop talking with their friends and most of us were trying to remain focus. The route towards Marina South was quite relaxing, i actually enjoy running early in the morning before the sun comes out! The best thing on that day was the good weather. If the sun rose when i reached East Coast, i will have a hard time running. In other words, i tried my best not to reach there too late to avoid the heat. But in the end, the weather turned out so good and it was cloudy through out the whole event, there's even a slight drizzle in the end. I planned to walk when i hit the 30km mark and no matter what, no stopping before 21km! I checked my timing at 21km, faster than the recent Ahm by 2mins..quite happy with it but was worried if i had gone too fast for the first half. When i reached the 30th km, which was at East Coast Park, i convinced myself to continue till 35km before i walk. The route i dislike most was at the East Coast Park, the road surface was quite rough which pressure my knee even more. Regretted bringing my ipod along and not using it, i thought i could listen to some music to kill boredom but turned out that noise pollution was the last thing i want. At that point of time i had no mood for anything. The last 10km was the toughest of all, my speed was almost equivalent to fast-paced walk but i tried my best to continue till the end. At the 35km, something terrible happened, the blister on my left toe burst, ouch. I had a feeling it was blood flowing out and it was EXTREMELY painful! Indeed i was right, my left shoes have shades of red on the side. I then ran in an awakard manner and endure the pain through every step. Yes, every single step i took was painful, the only thing i looked forward to was to see the next distance reached on the signboard (and the finishing line of coz). Other than the burst blister, my waist and right knee started to hurt again. Thank god, Deep Heat was provided at certain medical checkpoints during the race so i grabbed every opportunity and asked for the rub to apply on legs. The rub works wonders, it gives a cooling effect which helps me to forget abt the aches as i ran. If its not for the Deep Heat, i wouldn't have continue running with those aches on my calfs, thighs and waist. Halfway through the route, there were many families and friends holding banners to support their loved ones, really very sweet of them to make their way down early in the morning, taking the free bus service which stops at certain places just to cheer them on. The rest of the runners are great too, we gave encouragement when we passed by each other. Trust me, those encouragement really helps alot..We high-fives each other, shared Deep Heat and telling each other never give up! The best moment of the run was the last km. My eyes were almost filled with tears when i saw the finishing line. Cheerleaders, uncle, aunties, kids and other participants cheered us on and i took up speed and CHIONG AH~!!! (not forgetting to pose for the photos..ahaha) In the end, i ran 42km without stopping. I proved to myself that things are possible if you put ur mind, heart and soul into it. I reached my target and finish it with a timing of 4 hrs 53 mins, YAY!! Finishing a marathon is something which i've always wanted and i'm proud to say that I'VE DONE IT!! **Thanks Junjie and Bobbi to come down and gave support! Realli appreciate it!!!**

Its tml and surprisingly i have not felt any anxiety..yet. hopefully my waist will fully recover by tonight. A lesson learnt, nv ever slouch while you sit. I have this habit of slouching on my chair while in front of the computer and tv, now i've sprained my waist and it really hurts. Serves me right. Had the first carbo-meal-of-the-day, now the pratas are sitting heavily in my stomach which are so hard to digest! Felt so uncomfortable after eating these fried doughs, maybe i should get used to eating pratas again. Did i mention today is my Dad's birthday? *Happy Birthday Dad!* i promise to be a good daughter from now on. haha.. Here's a peep of the route for u guys: basically its starting from Esplanade to Marina ---> back to Esplanade ---> to East Coast ---> and back to Padang.. i pray that the photographers will not capture me crawling back to the finishing line. Anyway, my target for this race is to complete it with a timing of 5hrs. Since i did half marathon in 2hrs 9mins, twice the route should be 4hrs 18mins + plus the walking time n deccelaration of speed, 42mins.. = 5hrs! hopefully i can do so..*pray*
