Had steamboat with the peeps yesterday at Chin Huat Steamboat in Marina South. We reached the place around 9 and had trouble looking for seats. All 6 of us were desperately looking for a table, basically its because we were all VERY hungry. We were like 6 hungry souls roaming around the place for an empty table.

After we found one, we waited quite a while for staff to clean it up.

The food was almost half-gone and not much varieties left, in short we were there to clear up the leftovers.

The place was smoky and dirty. Food-wise, i suspect they are not fresh as well.

Some may think tt summing up the total bill could have a nice, decent steamboat at home or a bbq instead, but sometimes we are just lazy or too busy to organise one and clean up the mess after that. haha. So for a $12 buffet, we shouldn't be complaining.

I used to love steamboat at Marina South, mainly its because of the crowded atmosphere and outdoor settings which is suitable for gatherings.

However, i did not enjoy the food at all. Every mouthful of food i took i knew its not properly washed, but its either u starve or get stuffed and i choose the latter. haha no choice, really hungry.

I seriously dun think i will want to return to that place again. argh!
