Memories of Primary School...

Do u still remember your primary school song?
haha, i'm pretty sure very few of you can remember the song which you had spent 6 years of your life singing during Assembly. I still can recall the melody..and erm, just two lines of lyrics:

here we are at school to study and to play..
:
(blah, blah, blah..)
:
River Valley, River Valley, River Valley Primary School...

Everytime when i am on my way to Great World City, i would take a few glances of this school of mine. Memories kept flowing back as i pictured myself playing on the field many years ago, the cement track, with only a single lane, was where i used to run the 1.6km for nafa.
The basketball courts behind the field was the place where students had our Assemblies, as a 'senior prefect' (ahem!..lol..) i have to assemble early before/after school to rise/lower the national flag.

See the small cabin at the left corner of the picture(above)? That's our Canteen A, and here's a picture of Canteen B:

The small room at the back of the Canteen was for the school band. Every friday after school, we have to tolerate the noisy drums and beats while having lunch. Canteen B was famous for its laksa, stall 1 would sell it on odd days while stall 3 on even days. In order words, most of the students had laksa almost everyday coz both are really GOOD! haha, when we were young, we didn't know what are calories and cholesterol yet.

Food was cheap and cost ard 80cents to slightly more than a dollar for a bowl of noodle soup.

And how can i forget this flight of steps (red arrow pointing) where i fell and fractured my right ankle? Yea, I have to spend 2 miserable months wearing a cast and carry those clutches everywhere!

Last Wednesday i went to Great World City once again, the old sch buildings were demolished and will be replaced by new condominiums where construction has already started. I was really sad to that place in such a state.. =( The new school has moved somewhere else, i am not sure where and didn't bother to find out anyway.

River Valley Primary School. The place where i learnt my first multiplications, divisions, idioms, how to write compositions, reading the first comprehensions, my first experience using a pen to do my homework (haha!)...etc.

And the 6 years of wonderful memories at this school will always stay in my heart forever.
