Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facning insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greexe to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed grahpic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

This movie received a mixture of critics, with many people loving the film while others hating it (very much), however i wasn't disappointed at the end on of the show though many seems to defer, complaining about the historical mistakes of this movie about the battle of thermopylae, and portraying the persians as deformed creatures. Everytime there's a movie based on historical events, these kinda thing would happen. I would say, just sit back and enjoy the show, treat it as an entertainment instead. If people like to complain so much, why not go watch a documentary?

For me i think this is an awesome film, i love the movie effects, all the 300 spartans with 8packs (photoshop-ed?), the SLOW MOTIONS ( i know its too many but i'm not sick of it), the fighting scenes and many more. The sad thing is, some people will not remember this film as much as Troy because Troy had great cast like Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom while 300, not many Singaporeans know of Gerard Butler.

Still, its a show worth watching! I'm gonna get the DVD! Yay!
